So I was at home packing for the trip back to DC . No one was home; Rob was in DC already and our roommate, James, was out of town. I had my stuff scattered all over the floor. There was packing for DC to be done but there was also packing for the move. I was leaning over the suitcase on the floor messing with a pile of clothes and papers when something went running out from near my hand. You will never guess what it was; A FREAKING SCORPION…No joke. It was about 3 inches long, only an inch wide and has a very light grey/brown shell. I completely flipped. I mean, a scorpion in my bedroom! What the heck was I supposed to do!? I called Rob. It was midnight east coast tine and he had already gone to bed but I didn’t know what else do. He stayed on the phone with me and talked me through “the hunt and kill”. I had to keep an eye on the scorpion so that it didn’t leave the room because then I would be really screwed. The catch was we have these light bamboo hardwood floors and the darn thing blended right in with them! I had to run out of the room to get a frying pan (to smoosh the scorpion with) and when I came back in the room I couldn’t find the stupid scorpion! I looked everywhere, but at the same time, I was scared to look to far under the bed and was turning in circles thinking that it was going to be right behind my foot at any minute. I looked and looked until suddenly I saw it on my suitcase. IT CAN CLIMB!?!?!?!?! That really freaked me out! So I went after it with the frying pan, as hard as I could and it was still ALIVE! It crawled into my suitcase…what the heck now?! Rob told me to get the rake out of the garage and that I would have to stand on the bed and then use the rake to pull everything out of the suitcase one piece at a time until I found it. Sure enough it was clinging to the holes on my lingerie bag. I pulled it out and hit it as hard as I could with the pan and it lived,! I hit it again and again and again and nothing. Finally I just set the pan on top of it and the stepped on the pan and jumped up and down until I could here it crunch. O M G that was the craziest night I have had in awhile!
